Thursday Dec 6
We got up very early and just had a light breakfast in the room before heading off on our scooter snorkelling trip which started at 9am. The tour operator was Greenpack and they had a brand new boat - for a snorkelling trip it was very luxurious - with proper seating for 20+ and a toilet - however they only take 8 out on this trip with 2 guides as well as the captain/owner. It was quite windy, somewhat cloudy and therefore quite cool. We went around to the other side of Malabar and did our first snorkel - it was supposed to be about 25 minutes but we were in the water for over and hour - we were so freezing (in spite of having wetsuits) that we were the first to head back to the boat. Everyone else soon followed. At the second (and last stop) we decided not to get in the water as it was just too cold - everyone else stayed in for about 20 minutes and by that time the batteries on the scooters were fading.
Back at the lodge around 1pm we had a nice bowl of soup before showering and cleaning up our gear which always takes a while.
From here we lazed our way to dinner.
