Perth and home

Saturday June 2

Uneventful day - afternoon flight back to Perth and the Westin. Checked in around 5pm - we had not been able to book a table (anywhere close by including the Garum, the Westin’s restaurant) so we elected for room service and some French Open viewing.

Sunday June 3

we had arranged to meet up with Merry (and Mark) for a “guided” walk of King’s Park - guided because Merry has just completed her training as a volunteer guide. Since Merry was only picking us up at 1:30pm - we did a long river-front walk after a huge hotel brekkie - the city was humming with activity as it was a long weekend (WA day on Monday) and it was a beautiful sunny day.

Merry picked us up as planned (without Mark as he was home working on his PC) - we strolled around the park then had a bit of drive around before going back to M&M’s place around 5pm. We had drinks and snacks on their terrace then headed out for an early dinner at a local Thai place - food was very good - then home by taxi for us and more French Open viewing.

Monday June 4 - WA Day

After another hotel breakfast we did a major walk on a bit of a gloomy day stopping for a light lunch at The Royce pub overlooking the river.

Later we hit the Club Lounge for happy hour then had dinner at the Garum - while the atmosphere and service are excellent the food was (again) somewhat disappointing.

Tuesday June 5

After breakfast in the club lounge we lazed about (reading, surfing and blogging) since it was raining quite heavily on and off.
