Our annual ski trip was scheduled later than usual this year due to our trip to Antarctia in Dec/Jan. The trip seemed to have something of a jinx on it.
About 4 weeks before departure I noticed by hapchance that our LifeMiles (LM) award trip back on Air China (CA) had a schedule change which CA “fixed”; all that was required was for LM to re-issue the ticket - after many phone calls and empty promises LM had been unable (before we left Sydney) to re-issue the ticket due to a system incompatibility between their system and CA’s (so it seemed). As a result the day before we left Sydney we booked paid business class flights home on Air New Zealand (NZ) as a backup. keep reading this blog for the ongoing saga. To our amazement LM did sort it all out a week later and we were able to cancel our NZ paid booking (less $600).
Dieter’s hip problem (arthritis) has been causing him increasing problems particualy when walking - not a great omen for schussing down black runs in his usual agressive style. So fingers crossed.
To top it all off - this season at Whistler looks to be the worst in living memory - here’s hoping the March snow storms move in.
