In September 2012 we took a one-week Mekong River Cruise from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap following by 10 days in Koh Samui, Thailand. It was sort of spur of the moment brought on by a good deal on the cruise and our ability to secure business class award tickets using US Airways points on fairly short notice. - Sept 13: Sydney-Singapore-Ho Chi Minh City on SQ
- Sept 13-15: Two nights at the Grand Hotel Saigon
- Sept 15-22: Cruising the Mekong River
- Sept 22-25: 3 nights at Raffles Grand Hotel D'Angkor in Siem Reap
- Sept 25: Siem Reap-Ho Chi Minh-Bangkok on Angkor AIr and Lufthansa
- Sept 25-26: Overnight at the Novotel at BKK airport
- Sept 26: Bangkok-Koh Samui on Thai Airways
- Sept 26-Oct 1: Conrad Koh Samui
- Oct 1-6: Infinity Residences & Resort, Koh Samui
- Oct 6: Koh Samui - Bangkok on TG
- Oct 6-7: Overnight in Bangkok at the Shangri La Hotel
- Oct 7: Bangkok-Sydney on TG
