We had a quick weekend away in Kiama from Saturday Jan 15 - Monday Jan 17.
It was raining in the morning so we took our time leaving home - finally departing at 11am with enough luggage for an overseas trip - of course the Nespresso machine was on board.
By the time we arrived at the Sebel it was 1pm and the rain had cleared. We were able to check-in but did not get an upgrade (as Accor Platinum members) as the Sebel was fully booked - not surprising given it was a summer weekend in the school holidays.
After unpacking and having our packed lunch we set out on a walk along the beach / waterfront - it was hot and sunny. We finished off by having a look at the famous Kiama blowhole ….
Then it was back to the Sebel for Happy Hour (beers and G&Ts brought from home) followed by showers and dinner at Yves, the Sebel’s pub/restaurant. We had booked the Olive Grove but after walking by it earlier in the afternoon decided to cancel our reservation there. Dinner was fine particularly given our Accor 50% discount.
Sunday - our only full day - got up for a couple of Nespresso's then had our ‘free’ (as Accor Platinum) breakfast which was pretty much as expected.
We spent a few hours driving around the local towns and beaches with a few short walks. Around mid-day we ate our left-over packed sambos from the previous day.
Back at the Sebel we had our complimentary welcome drinks sitting on their bar terrace overlooking Kiama harbour.
Dinner was a rinse and repeat of Saturday.
Monday - time to drive back to Sydney. After brekkie we packed up then did a walk around Kiama waterfront / beach before heading back to Sydney. We stopped for lunch at the Headland Hotel in Austinmer. Before getting home we stopped for a bit of shopping.
