Stuttgart

Thursday July 26  Stuttgart

After a long trip we finally arrived at the Schlossgarten hotel around mid-day and still had to wait 15 minutes before our room was ready. We unpacked then had a light lunch at the garden cafe then showered and rested.

We headed out shopping around 3pm and were very successful in finding me a new pair of hiking boots - this was a top priority as my old ones and essentially bit the dust while in WA 2 months ago.

Friday July 27  Stuttgart

It was our day to visit Rolf & Lori and for Dieter to visit the bank again to get his online and ATM access to his German bank account sorted out. This was done - in fact Rolf had organised the bank to open just for his visit ….. amazing. Afterwards we went out to lunch with R&L to a very nice restaurant - it was a hot (30+C) day and the restaurant wasn’t air-conditioned which we both found quite amazing. We went back to R&L’s for a glass of Prosecco then headed home on the S-Bahn. The S-Bahn had free WiFi which worked better than at our hotel - which we were quick to point out them - they had some flimsy excuse that they were in the process of upgrading to fiber optics (sounded a bit like an “NBN” story).

After showers we went out to a cafe on the Koenig Strasse for five’es and some people watching - from here we went to dinner.

Saturday July 28  Stuttgart

It was our shopping day - lots of loot - 2 pairs of shoes for me, 4 tops for me and 1 top for Dieter. We had lunch at an outdoor cafe then went back to the hotel to unpack our stuff and start packing up as we are on our way tomorrow. We had dinner at the hotel’s winebar - pretty good but very hot as it’s not airconditioned.
